A number of members of Adelante on Wheels are also active in competitive sport. So did Bjorn Demas, with pilot Ronald Carpay, when motorcycle racing for the tandems of the World Cup in Ostend (B) on 21 May. On the trail through the streets of Ostend, the tandems, in 13 rounds, 104 km on the clock. He was also in the Pentecost weekend, just as Aaron van der Meeren (handcycle) at the Cologne Classic, a European Cup contest Paracycling in Cologne. The time trial was 20 km long and took place on the Speedway Terra Nova in Elsdorf. It was a tricky race course, according to Aaron, with many curves and 3 climbing. Yet he was satisfied with his time. Bjorn and his pilot Ronald Carpay took even the third place at the tandems. The road racing took place in the streets of the district Longerich. 2.2 km race went under 2 viaducts and along some roundabouts. The tandems reason 30 rounds and the handbikers 19 rounds. Aaron could well ride along in a group with some handbikers of his own class. Unfortunately he came in the sprint just too short to stay ahead of them.

The work of the outer orbit around the Adelante building are almost complete.
Saturday 18 March from 11:00 until 15:00, the opening of the outdoor track on the schedule.

During the Adelante Open day on Saturday 18 March 2017 was there to follow a Move Forward Indoor Clinic under the guidance of Jetze Plat.

Starting from 1 February 2017 our Association offers disabled people the opportunity to responsibly
(custom) cycling sport and physical and mental boundaries. We would like to you, (potential)
members of Adelante on Wheels, invite to the very first members "meeting" of the Association.
These first members meeting is held:
- in OASIS (restaurant of Adelante)
- Wednesday 1 February 2017
- starting 7.00 pm

Dear members,

In the past year Adelante on Wheels and Adelante worked together towards improved agreements on mutual cooperation.
This ultimately resulted in a sponsorship contract with Adelante. This contains clear agreements and mutual obligations for the coming three-year period.
Following the conclusion of this contract, the board also sat together with the Adelante team, which always supervised and supported the Battle team. The purpose of this meeting was to clearly align and write down the mutual expectations regarding the training courses.

The following has been agreed:
• Members of AoW may participate in the training sessions organized by Adelante for the Battle team. This also applies to the Eifel and Voerstreek training.
• The training app will be announced 6 weeks in advance on the association app. (All of them are now in the team app)
• The training sessions start exactly at the starting time. Turning warm and stretching and stretching should be done before the actual training.
• In any case the indoor training is provided by someone from Adelante. Two Adelante team members will be present as standard,
  who will primarily focus on the Battle team.
• Members of AoW take care of their own bike and Tacx.
• Members of AoW take care of the transport of the bike to and from the car, the preparation of the bike and the transfers.

The triathlete Jetze Plat has been named an honorary member at Adelante on Wheels. Jetze is Olympic
champion in the triathlon competition at the Paralympic Games.
The athlete from Vrouwenakker was already in Rotterdam to world champion para Triathlon crowned.
Until recently he was a parcoursrecord holder of the marathon in Berlin.
He is a great example and stimulator for the members of the Association.
From the hands of President Jeroen van der Eerden, Jetze received a bunch of flowers.
